Magda Baraczka is a young rising artist, educator, and arranger based in the Toronto jazz scene. Entering her final year of studies in the Faculty of Music at the University of Toronto, she has flourished in her love of live performance. Coming from backgrounds of playing instrumental jazz and performing in live musical theatre, she invited listeners into a multifaceted listening experience and performance. 

Taking inspiration from the wonderful Betty Carter, Carmen Mcrae, and Lorez Alexandria, Magda sings traditional jazz standards with the aim of creating a fresh and unique sound. In addition to the Rex, she has sung and led her bands at venues across the city, such as the Jazz Bistro, the Emmet Ray, the Only Cafe, and the Duke Live.
