Ale Avery Nunez is a 2026 first time Juno Nominee for Best Vocal Jazz Album, Under the Lemon Tree.  Ale is a vocalist, songwriter and bandleader rooted in jazz and soul and based in Toronto. Her influences range from Sarah Vaughan, Carmen McRae, Nat King Cole, and Etta Jones to Aretha Franklin, Norah Jones and Feist.  Ale has performed with musicians including Neil Swainson, Peter Bertstein, Terry Clarke and Adam Arruda. Ale closely collaborates with a friend and fellow musician, Eric Liang. Eric Liang is a pianist and composer in his final year studying jazz piano at the University of Toronto. He has previously studied with Glenn Zaleski, Aaron Parks and Chris Donnelly. An active pianist in the Toronto jazz scene, Eric has performed with musicians including Neil Swainson, Pat Labarbara, Terry Clarke, and Kirk Macdonald. Ale and Eric have been collaborating for more than 4 years now performing across Toronto, arranging and composing songs together.
