Wide Arches is the debut singer-songwriter project of multi-instrumentalist and composer, Jacob Gorzhaltsan. Formed during the pandemic lockdown by way of online recording collaborations, the band features a talented array of local Toronto artists. With lyrical content that is introspective yet playful, the band’s music draws off Jacob’s influences in folk music and singer-songwriters such as Nick Drake, Leonard Cohen, Harry Nilsson, Damien Jurado, Daniel Rossen, and Andy Shauf. The debut album by Wide Arches, “Farewell to All the Lovely Things”, was graciously funded by the Toronto Arts Council and was released on Sept 12th, 2023.
