Toronto's Triodes is a genre-jumping instrumental group that traces its roots to the upbeat instrumental R+B, soul, and funk of groups such as Booker T and the MGs, The Meters, and Herbie Hancock’s Headhunters, all with generous nods to early reggae and ska, modern jazz, experimental rock, and electronica.
Their album Chunked features unique covers of everything from Desmond Decker's hit "The Israelites" to groovy Duke Ellington on "Blue Pepper" to the psychedelic funk of The Rhythm Machine's "The Kick," alongside funky and quirky original music.
