Pay What You Can
Every now and then, if we are really lucky, we encounter an artist like Sandra Bouza, an artist whose voice stops us in our tracks.
Raised between Canada and Spain, her wealth of life experience is evident in her well crafted and poignant lyrics.
Sandra’s absorbed a lot from listening to the greats from the golden age of R&B, but like them, she has emerged with a style all her own, with strong songwriting influenced by the roots in artists like Neil Young and Joni Mitchell. Gifted with a masterful sense of poise and control, few singers can inhabit a vocal like Bouza does. She has recently begun tapping into her Celtic Spanish roots, performing songs in the Galician dialect of Northern Spain with a goal to create new music in the dialect.
Everyone who’s heard her sing knows that Sandra’s always been a powerful vocalist and a compelling songwriter, but with her recent work, she has truly found her own voice. Bouza has recently been nominated for Maple Blues ‘Best New Artist” award and her last album ‘A Sound in the Dark’ was nominated for ‘Best New Contemporary Album’ at the Canadian Folk Music Awards. She is currently working on an acoustic album, due for release in August of 2027.
