Rebecca Hennessy is an award-winning Canadian multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, trumpeter, and songwriter whose work bridges jazz, roots, and poetic song. Known for her warm, expressive voice and lyrical trumpet style, she creates music that is intimate, spacious, and emotionally resonant, inviting deep listening and connection.

Her current project places Hennessy at the centre as a narrative songwriter and instrumentalist, presenting original songs that explore themes of connection, memory, mortality, and our shared relationship to the natural world. While one song reflects on her paternal family’s journey from Constantinople (now Istanbul) to Canada, the project as a whole speaks to something universal: the human need for presence, care, and meaningful connection—to one another and to place. Her single Crickets, released in November, offers a first glimpse into this reflective and immersive body of work.

Hennessy is a recipient of the Toronto Arts Foundation Emerging Jazz Artist Award and has toured extensively across Canada, North America, and internationally. Based in Canada, she is known for her artistic integrity, emotional clarity, and deeply human approach to song.
