Papalote delivers an irresistible, rhythm-driven sound that moves both heart and  feet. Rooted in the vibrant tradition of son montuno from Cuba — with its  interplay of intricate rhythms, poetic storytelling, and spontaneous improvisation — the band spins the classics into a soulful, layered sound that’s danceable and deeply musical. 

 Anchored by the traditional rhythm section of tres guitar, bongos, bass, and  vocals, Papalote adds piano, conga, flute, clarinet, and saxophone, weaving a rich  tapestry of grooves and melodies.  

 Inspired by legendary Cuban greats such as Arsenio Rodríguez, yet unafraid to  push boundaries, Papalote dives into lesser-known genres such as changüí and  nengón. This fearless fusion honours the roots of son while propelling it into a new  era — vibrant, unexpected, and undeniably alive.
