Michael Occhipinti is that rare guitarist who is able to assert his personality across genres and styles.  Quick, name another guitarist who co-leads and conducts an innovative all-original  16-piece jazz orchestra, is known as a masterful creator of guitar atmospherics for others and his project ES:MO, shows off his improvising jazz chops with names like Don Byron, Jeff Coffin, Sam Rivers, and more, plays first-rate funk, r&b, and Afro-pop rhythm guitar, is celebrated for fusing Sicilian folk music with jazz and chamber music while also being part of groups exploring traditions from Turkey, India, and Africa, writes for classical ensembles,  and is a skilled arranger who can put his own stamp on the music of songwriters such as John Lennon, and Bruce Cockburn.  Michael Occhipinti is a restless searcher, eager to partner with new musicians and to find new ways to express himself as a composer and guitarist.
