Matt Morgan is a dedicated swing guitarist and prolific educator based in Toronto. Drawing inspiration from the giants of the tradition — Oscar Peterson, Lester Young, Joe Pass, and Charlie Christian — Matt brings a deep reverence for classic jazz to everything he plays. A graduate of Humber College’s jazz program, where he studied under Ted Quinlan, Nathan Hiltz, and Jocelyn Gould, he has since become a fixture in the city’s vibrant jazz scene. His freelance work has brought him alongside vocalist Caity Gyorgy, trumpeter Matt Smith, and clarinetist Taylor Maslin. Equally committed to the next generation, Matt maintains an active teaching practice rooted in the swing tradition.
