The Coltrane Sutras is a transcultural re-imagining of the musical worlds of John and Alice Coltrane. It brings together instruments, rhythms, and melodies from global traditions through leading Canadian jazz and world-music artists. The project extends the Coltranes' spiritual explorations and search for a "multicultural theory of musical transcendence" into a contemporary sound shaped by Toronto's cultural plurality.
