Fethi Nadjem was born in 1983 in Algeria where he grew up in a family of musicians. He began playing the guitar and oud at the age of 13, and developed his skills within the Fine Arts Association in Algiers.
Rooted in Algerian musical
traditions and shaped by global diasporic influences, Nadjem’s expansive,
genre-fluid approach moves seamlessly between North African rhythms, jazz
improvisation, funk, and contemporary groove. His performances are immersive journeys through sound, memory, and movement—reflecting the layered identities and creative exchanges that define Toronto’s cultural landscape.
