Eric Liang / Sylvester Pedersen Quartet 

Sylvester Pedersen is a young Danish bass talent who has taken the Scandinavian jazz scene by storm. In addition to collaborating with some of Denmark’s leading jazz figures, such as Anders Mogensen and Carl Winther, he has performed alongside American saxophone phenom Walt Weiskopf. Last year, he worked as a sideman and bandleader in Toronto, where he shared the stage with some of the finest local musicians. He now returns to the city, bringing a musical voice rooted in Nordic traditions and steeped in the language of swing. 

Eric Yongzhi Liang (b. 2003) is a Chinese-Canadian jazz pianist and composer based in Toronto. Graduating from the University of Toronto in 2026 (B. Mus), he has studied with Glenn Zaleski, David Story, Chris Donnelly, and Ethan Ardelli, and is an active performer in Toronto’s jazz scene. Eric appears regularly at premier venues including The Rex and The Jazz Bistro, both as a sideman and bandleader.
