Donné Roberts is a Madagascar-born, Toronto-based singer-songwriter, guitarist, producer, and mentor whose music bridges African traditions with contemporary global sounds. A two-time JUNO Award winner and four-time nominee, he is recognized as one of Canada's leading voices in global music.
His album OYA was nominated for Global Music Album of the Year at the 2022 JUNO Awards, adding to two previous JUNO Awards received as a member of African Guitar Summit and Okavango African Orchestra. In 2024, he won First Place in the International Songwriting Competition (USA), surpassing more than 14,000 entries from over 120 countries.
Donné has collaborated with artists worldwide, including providing backing vocals for the Swedish pop group Ace of Base, and was commissioned by CBC Radio One to compose the theme music for its popular morning program Fresh Air.
His uplifting performances feature irresistible African guitar rhythms, blues inspired lead guitar lines, hypnotic grooves, rich vocal harmonies, expressive jazz saxophone, and memorable melodies that invite audiences to sing along, smile, and celebrate life together.
Donné is currently completing a highly anticipated new album scheduled for release in August 2026.
