• Uxbridge Secondary School, under the direction of Amy Peck

• Mayfield Secondary School, under the direction of Michael Moon

Each year the Big Band Slam brings together high school bands from across the Greater Toronto Area for an afternoon of music on an official Festival stage. The Slam is not a competition; it is instead a chance to showcase some of the outstanding music being made by high school music students across the city. A different established local musician is selected to be the Slam’s guest artist each year; the guest artist works with each band in advance of the Festival - attending rehearsals with each band - and performs with each band at the Festival.
