Alyssa Giammaria is a Toronto based vocalist and composer whose music is based in contemporary jazz, while drawing from classical and singer-songwriter influences to create a sound that is her own. With this, her writing contains a personal quality that allows listeners to connect to the music in their own relatable way.

Originally from Hamilton, Ontario, Alyssa was born into a musical family where her parents taught her to sing from the time she was able to talk. Growing up, she would listen in on her parent's band rehearsals until she immersed herself in her own musical community, and had her start performing in musicals when she was eight. From here she went on to study classical voice and piano before studying jazz at her hometown college. Since then, Alyssa has studied at the New School in New York City and is currently completing her master's at the University of Toronto.

She released her debut album, Moments, in 2021. Five tracks long, it was written as a concept album rooted in a journey of inner growth, with each track representing a focal point and the arrangements written to mimic the outward expression of the inner journey. The seven piece band, (consisting of voice, three horns, piano, bass and drums), interact as if they are one moving part; yet still display the originality of their own musicianship. The themes of the songs vary from introspective and thoughtful to uplifting and energetic, each song crafting its own sound.
