Erin Propp is a Juno-nominated, Western Canadian Award-winning singer and songwriter from Winnipeg, Manitoba. Critically acclaimed for her work in jazz and contemporary music, Erin is a highly sought-after vocalist, collaborator, clinician, educator and mentor, lending her voice to an array of recordings and projects. Erin’s voice is one of rare clarity, defying genre and winning audiences everywhere. As Roberta Flack sang, her voice is killing us softly as it reaches inside and says it out loud.
Now, Erin releases The Longing Years, her first album as leader, grounding her band from behind the piano. Featuring Grammy-award winning Attacca Quartet, Joey Landreth (of the Bros. Landreth), Fabio Ragnelli and Julian Bradford, this album features songwriting to match Erin’s distinctive voice. Musically, the album is an exploration of her jazz influences, paired with her folk and gospel roots, while the lyrical and emotional quotient is mined from early years in motherhood; quiet days spent surrounded by babies and books, with a voice that is sometimes serene in its acknowledgement of relational struggles, and sometimes passionately seeking resolve. Erin’s live show delivers writing and musicianship that is powerful, confessional, inventive, and intimate. Performing at The Rex on August 21, 2026, Erin brings drummer Ethan Ardelli, bassist Julian Bradford, and guitarist Tristan Clark.
